Principal's Message

Dr. Sharon Walker-Hood

Principal

Dr. Walker-Hood is our most veteran school administrator with 23 years of experience in District 111. She has served as Principal at Maddock, Burbank, and McCord Schools. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Chicago State University as well as a Master of Arts in Education Administration from Governors State University. She also has a Doctorate in Education Leadership from Chicago State University. Dr. Walker-Hood will now be serving as a District Principal providing guidance and support to all our schools. Some areas of focus will include family involvement, teacher & staff evaluations, arrival & dismissal procedures, curriculum, and professional development. Dr. Walker-Hood is looking forward to her new role in the district and is eager to share her knowledge and insight.

Multicultural Night

Our Multicultural Fair will be held at Liberty September 17 at 5:30 pm. This year we invite everyone to proudly wear traditional clothing that represents their heritage, culture, and family traditions. If you would like to be introduced and participate in the fashion show, please scan the QR code and sign up by September 9. Want to share a favorite cultural dish? Student Registration Fee Discount

Pay early and save on your child's registration fee. Payment must be received by September 30, 2026 to qualify for the $25 discount.

School Board Candidate Information

Burbank School District 111 will have three school board seats to be filled at the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election. Candidates who are elected will fill four-year terms expiring in April 2031. Candidates for the office of school board can begin to circulate nominating petitions beginning August 25. The period for candidate filing is November 16 - 23.
